AutismChat3

From This Land Minecraft Server

AutismChat 3.0 is a Bukkit plugin designed to allow people to fine-tune and regulate the flow of communication and information while playing on the server. It is based around the key principles of coloured badges which express communication preferences, and parties which allow controlled group communication.

Parties[edit]

Parties are intended to be the default mode of communicating in AutismChat. When you send a message without any commands, it will be visible only to the other players in your party.

Joining parties is done by joining a specific player. When you join a player, you enter into a party with them and anyone they are currently partied with. When you first join the server you are not in any party by default.

Commands:

  • /join [playername] - join [playername]'s party
  • /leave - leave the party you're in

There are no party 'leaders', and players cannot be kicked from parties. Each player only controls their own behaviour in the party, by leaving or joining (and indirectly with their badge colour).

Global chat[edit]

Global chat is very different with AutismChat to the chat experience players may be used to on other servers. With AutismChat, players must type /g [message] to send a message to global chat.

Global chat is completely separate from parties and badge colour. You can have global chat on or off, regardless or what colour your badge is and whether or not you are in a party. When you first join the server global chat is visible to you by default.

Commands:

  • /gc on - makes global chat visible to you
  • /gc off - stops showing you global chat

Status[edit]

Your "status" is a collection of information about your AutismChat settings, which anyone can find out:

  • What colour your badge is
  • Whether or not you can see global chat
  • Whether you're in a party, and if so, who with.

Commands:

  • /status - shows your own status
  • /status [playername] - shows the status of [playername]

Badge colours[edit]

These are based on the traffic light badge system at UK autistic gathering Autscape.

/white[edit]

White means that you are able to manage your communication yourself. When you first join the server, you are white by default.

Typing /white at any time will do the following:

  • Allow anyone to join a party with you
  • Allow anyone to message you privately
  • Make the colour of your name in tablist and chat white

/green[edit]

Green means that you actively want people to initiate interaction with you.

Typing /green at any time will do the following:

  • Allow anyone to join a party with you
  • Allow anyone to message you privately
  • Make the colour of your name in tablist and chat green

(It is functionally the same as white, but expresses a different preference.)

/yellow[edit]

Yellow means that only people on your "yellow list" can initiate interaction with you.

Yellow list commands:

  • /yellow add [playername] - adds [playername] to your yellow list
  • /yellow remove [playername] - removes [playername] from your yellow list
  • /yellow list - provides a list of everyone on your yellow list currently

Typing /yellow at any time will do the following:

  • Remove you from any party you're currently in that contains people not on your yellow list
  • Allow only people on your yellow list players to join a party with you
  • Allow only people on your yellow list to privately message you
  • Make the colour of your name in tablist and chat yellow

/red[edit]

Red means that no-one can initiate interaction with you.

Typing /red at any time will do the following:

  • Remove you from any party you're currently in
  • Prevent anyone from joining a party with you
  • Prevent anyone from privately messaging you
  • Make the colour of your name in tablist and chat red

/blue (admin and mods only)[edit]

This indicates that you are logged in in your role as admin or mod and here on "official business", or to indicate your availability for mod/admin tasks.

Typing /blue at any time will do the following:

  • Allow anyone to create a party with you
  • Allow anyone to privately message you
  • Make the colour of your name in tablist and chat blue

(It is functionally the same as white, but expresses a different preference.)
